I talked to Dr. Michel Gagner today! I"m very excited. He went through my medical/ bariatric history and reviewed my barium swallow test and gastroscopy report. At this point he want to do the intestine portion of the DS surgery. I never thought it would be suggested and I am very happy! He quoted me 13000 - 13500 for the revision. He said if needed, and he doesn't think it will be, he could revise my VBG stomach (the staple line is down and it is basically free flow) if needed in the future. He said they have done just the intestinal part of the DS on patients and they have lost large amounts of weight. I am so happy about this :) :) :)

I am so happy for you! I have my first appointment to swallow Barium next week, then  gastroscopy. I pray I have the same results.

I am considering it... If you had to do the revision over again, would you do it?

My revision was lap to RNY and I only wish I'd done the RNY to begin with.  So far, everything is great.  I made goal within a year and know that I must be very careful how I eat or I will regain.   I have many friends that have  maintained their goal wt and many that started eating the junk foods and gained it all back.

Be very careful here! Doing the intestinal part of the DS alone, is NOT a DS! Any issues caused by the stomach, like most are with RNY, will still be problems. He does not have the reputation he used to, and if it were me, I'd travel to Rabkin or Kesheshian. I'm not allowed to put links here, but you MUST do some more research on this.

I was RNY to DS revision. Complications...I am almost 4 months out from surgery. It has not been easy for me. Would I do it again? Some days yes some days no. More yes then no as time goes on.
