Waiting for approval for revision of band to bypass
I had a band in 2009, lost at most 20 lbs. Then had a baby, and had severe vomiting during pregnancy and a bout of food poisoning. After that, even with several fills, I didn't feel hardly any restriction. Researched and discussed with Dr my desire to switch to bypass. He agreed, Psych and Nutritionist agreed as well. Just waiting on the insurance company. Please keep you fingers crossed for me. BMI 46. 40 yrs old and wanting to be healthy so I can chase my 2 yr old !
Not hard. I explained that I had so much to get healthy for. I want to be able to play with my toddler and see him grow up. I showed him how I had created a plan on myfitnesspal.com and my exercise activity on runkeeper.com .I met with his nutritionist and mental health Dr. He agreed that since I needed to lose more than 100# that GB would be the best idea.I see the Cardio Dr. next, then wait for approval from insur.

Hi JoCoAnne,
I'm in the same boat with you had a band in 2008, lost about 17 lbs and gained it back. Had the VSG in 2009 and lost 35 and gained back 17 lbs. I realize that I needed more than restriction. Good thing that your BMI is 46, I'm sure you will be approved.
I'm waiting for my approval from BCBS Federal, right now my BMI is 35 and I'm 52 yrs old, with 2 co-morbidities. Wish I was 40 yrs old.
Best wishes to you!!!
