I am approved after 4 days from Humana, for a Band Revision to a Sleeve, or RNY my choice. I must be in worst shape than I think for them to approve that fast. LOL.  Yes I know about the DS but my insurance does not pay and my doctor does not do it so I am happy with whatever Dr. Oldham and I decide the band just did not work.

Congrats you are very fortunate to be able to revise so many can't for one reason or another. You will be jopining an awesome group of people who are now rid of their nasty bands! Best of luck!

I had the sleeve done in October 2008 and in November 2012 revison to DS.  I have Humana, and Humana did covered it.

Hi,

If you don't mind me asking. Where are you having the revision done and how did you get approved? I would like a revision done but don't know where to obtain information and am waiting for a call back to schedule an appointment with my surgeon. My original bypass was in Toronto July 2011.

WOOT!!!!!!  Awesome!!!!!  I personally would go with the sleeve, after all, it is the 1st part of the DS.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

I had posted to you but it went to cyber land I guess.  I put off getting the band out until I couldn't deal wit the medical issues for 18 months.  The reason, I was only able to get a RNY or nothing.  I opted for nothing until I could get the sleeve.  I personally didn't want the RNY after doing all my research it wasn't for me.  The Sleeve is the first part of the DS if malabsortion is needed down the road.  That said, I don't plan on getting another surgery.

Just what I feel is right for me.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.
