I am having revision surgery in 2 days and I am very very excited but still a little nervous. My band slipped twice and I have gained back all my weight and then some in 2 years I am ready to get back on the losing bench. Wish me luck

I'm very excited for you.  I had my band removed and the RNY done June 29 of this year.  It was all one surgery.  I like the RNY SO much better than the band.  I gained back all of my band weight PLUS 11 pounds.  Not fun.  Good luck and roll with the changes.  There are quite a few of them, but we made this decision for a reason.  Please let us know how it goes!

I'm very excited for you too.  You are going to do so much better the second time around.  We re-visers have learned a lot of lessons along the way.

I just had rny to distal done last week and I'm already down 18lbs. today.  Its amazing and I'm so grateful.

All the best!

Jennifer,

My surgery went really great.  I am so happy that I did this.  I am having a hard time getting in all my liquid and I can't barely eat anything usually like 2oz a meal the dr mentioned my pouch being tighter due to the band but said it should expand a little over time.  Thanks for ur concern I am about 22 lbs down now

Sounds like you're right on track.  Everything tends to be very tight and tender at first, so just do the best that you can.  I focused mostly on getting water in at first.  That's what I was told.  I really just listened to my body because it definitely lets us know what we can and can't do.

So glad you're through the surgery process and on your way!  There is nothing like a good RNY to teach you how to roll with the punches in life.  It's a rollercoaster at times.  The big weight losses, the stalls, the little losses, the non-scale victories...it's pretty amazing!!

Wishing you all the best.  We're all in it together!  Feel free to contact me if you need a shoulder or just have questions.

Thanks again its good to hear that I am not the only one.  I will try to put my water first.  A friend of mine also suggested to have more protein drinks to make sure I am trying to keep my calorie intake up.  If I have any questions I will definitely contact you.  Thanks a lot again
