I had a distal rny back in 2001. I have had weight regain and then weight loss. My biggest problem is constant need to use the bathroom. There has not been a day that I dont have diarrhea. Even with supplements and a good diet. I have been tested for crohns and celiac. They both came back negative. I'm not in malabsobtion either. I want to know if anyone has heard of a reversal to the band? Any advise would be awesome. The life I thought I would have post weight loss has been held back by the dumping!!!!

There are ERNY/distal RNY's here on the board, if I were you, I would EDIT my topic to say Distal RNY or ERNY.

Good Luck!!!

I'm going to take a guess and say you may have bacterial overgrowth in your intestines.  The best way to find out is to go on a course of Flagyl and if that helps then that is most likely the reason.  Stool cultures aren't very accurate because they don't test for all possible bacteria.  Some people who  have had their intestines messed with for WLS find themselves in that situation.  If it is bacterial overgrowth you can try a course of Flagyl followed by good probiotics to repopulate the intestines with the good bacteria to keep the bad stuff away but chances are it may be a recurrent problem.
