Apollo Overstitch Revision

Hi all.  I also had the Apollo Overstitch done on August 5, 2015.  I had a previous RNY in June 2010.  I have struggled with a 30 pound weight regain over the last two years.  My original surgeon performed the overstitch.

I am doing good.  I had a sore throat for about three days and my upper abdomen was sore when I coughed or took a deep breath but that is gone now.  It is definitely not the same restriction as the original surgery, but I do have some restriction now.

I am following my surgeons eating plan and am on a full liquid Sugar Free diet for two weeks then I will progress to pureed foods.  So far I have lost 10 pounds.  My first goal is to lose the 30 pounds gained and get back to my lowest weight post RNY.  Then I am going to work towards getting below 200.  Final goal to be about 180 pounds.

I know that the overstitch will help with 30-50 pounds but you have to work for it.  I intend to use my second chance to do just that.  I am eliminating all the bad habits I picked up over the last couple of years.  I am determined to make it happen.

I a doing good. It is still a watch what you eat plan. I have lost 22 of the 30 pounds of regain so I am happy with that. I have a follow up with my doctor in 2 weeks and hope to be down a few more by then. I have some restriction which I love. I just have to be very careful of my food choices. I am walking and exercising when I can which will help. At least I feel like I have a second chance and stopped the weight gain before it got too out of control. Good luck to you!

Hello I am scheduled for the Apollo on May 26th.   Was just curious as to how you are doing now.  It sounds like you've been successful thus far.

09/01/2020...do you mind sharing where you are today after your Apollo Overstitch? Im supposed to have it 09/09 but all these negative stories are making me think about it. My only other option is DS with Dr Portenier @Duke in NC.

UPDATE:  I saw Dr Thompson and Dr Shulman on August 31st. I went on soft foods the next day. I dropped 25lbs on the liquid 5-6 week diet. I have No restriction whatsoever and that makes me sad. I'm on regular foods now and still feel No restricted like I thought I would. I'm disappointed. I'd like to go back and ask him why? Getting a phone message returned is pointless and I was never hooked up with another appointment when I left, so looks like I wont be seeing him. What about you other ladies who also have Dr Thompson, any future appointments? Also, how is everyone faring with their weight loss?

Hello, just an update. I lost 35lbs and struggling. Need to lose 70 more. I have felt no restriction what so ever with the Apollo procedure. Disappointed for sure. I almost want to phone the surgeon back but with the nightmare I went through with his office, that alone stops me.

I do hope you other ladies are having much more success than I am. Any suggestions would sure be appreciated. Thanks :)

Looks like the apollo stitch doesn't work and the initial weightloss is from the 6 weeks liquid diet.so sorry that all you ladies were parted with your money and with nothing to show for it.
