I had the overstitch in Boston a few weeks ago, by Chris Thompson who has performed over 30 of these procedures since the apollo's fda approval in 2/12. My stoma was at a 22 and my pouch was only a 9. He reduced the stoma to between 6-8 and pouch size was too difficult to measure at the time of procedure due to inflamation. However, I feel the restriction! It feels very similar to about 2 yrs post op. Not nearly as tight as first year after my open RNY in 2003. But so amazingly better than the past 3yrs since my son was born and I couldn't stay satiated. I would ear every hour with the overstitch I have to remind myself to eat/drink my proteins!!! I have lost 19.6 lbs in 21 days!!!! It is the best money I ever spent. This guy is freaking amazing with how he fixed my stomach. If all goes well I will continue to try and get back to my goal weight with the next 3-4 months!!

Pain was minimal. No pain meds. Just tyleon for the throat and neck pain. They really get you into strange positions to ger camera, scope and allow him to work on the two areas of the stomach. I was under for about 1.5 hrs and home later that day.

This procedure is NOT the ROSE or Stomaphyx.

I am wondering how this Apollo overstitch procedure is working for you, now that you are two months out.   Have you lost any more weight?   There are many people considering this and curious as to outcomes.  Thanks.

Hello, I went to see Dr Lautz and he suggested I see Dr Thompson as well regarding the Apollo procedure. Can you tell me how much it cost out of pocket?  How are you doing now, are you happy with it?

Hi, Recently I saw Dr. Thompson and he said I am definitely in need of the operation you had. My question is how long did it take for you to acquire a surgery date from the time you first were told you needed the apollo surgery to actually having the surgery? Also did insurance cover the operation? I have no idea when it will be before I hear back from the office about a surgery date which is makes it difficult to wait. Thanks for any info you can provide.

Hello INTAKEKIM ..can you please tell me how long did it take to get your Apollo done? I went in May to first see Dr Thompson. Have an appointment followup this month which they just called and cancelled until March/2015 ... they don't know where I am on the list and told me some are waiting 2- 3 years. This is discouraging to me. Please let me know how long this all took for you? Thanks so much!!
