Help.....so frustrated.....had rny on November 3, 1999 went from 324 to 160 pounds,...
I want a revision but am very confused about so much. Perhaps somebody on this site can be of some help.I had a RNY 11/03/99 and went from 324 pounds to 160 pounds. I am now 240 pounds and so tired, depressed and just down and out here. I am seeking assistance from a highly skilled and experienced surgeon. I had an upper GI done and they stated I didn't stretch my pouch from what they could see but my stomach empties very rapidly. I left that appointment wanting to get hit by a mack truck....i was very confused. Now i move on to an endoscopy with this surgeon seeing what my previous surgeon did. Honestly, this is my last hope. I am so depressed I hardly even go outside and do not want to even get up in the morning. Regaining so much weight has made me constantly angry, feeling like a failure. I have very high blood pressure and lots of pain due to my obesity. I hate to sound like a cry baby but am bearing my soul here to find anyone who knows what would be my next best step? What type of surgery may help assist me and not let my stomach empty so quickly. I am constantly hungry and thirsty. I suffer from sodium deficiency ,anemia, high blood pressure as mentioned and lots of pain on lower joints. I have a long process but want a revision....any suggestions would be appreciated.
I "think" you can be revised to a DS duodenal switch. If you look o the right side of this page I think it will tell you about it or go ask on the DS forum. I'm not positive about the revision because I'm not that familiar with the DS. I wish you the best of luck, it's so difficult to deal with regain when you already lost so much, good luck to you I hope someone can give you better info!!
WOW!!!!!!!! You could be my twin!!!!
I had RNY in 2002. I revised to DS 12/29/11. The RNY to DS CAN BE DONE!!!!!!!
I read this, and it "clinched" my decision to pursue the DS surgery

Also, Dr. Roslin has an article title Does the patient fail the procedure or does the procedure fail the patient.
