Revision Approved!!
BCBSIL FINALLY approved my revision from Realize band to VSG!!!
This has been a long two year battle dealing with slipped/prolapsed band and jumping through insurance hoops...
The insurance company denied me last year for both removal and revision, said I needed 6 mo weightloss again (which policy states it is not required), but I did it anyways...insurance company denied me three weeks ago for unknown reasons, surgeon's office sent to to verbal appeals, which then went to peer to peer with an independent surgeon to review who then approved it!! Yay!!!
I am very excited/nervous/anxious/hopeful/ready!!! :)

That is great news!! I feel your pain. I am to get the band out 9-4 after getting approval for removal only. That has taken 18 months. I am already starting on the insurance hoops to the VSG.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

They kept denying my removal too, which was SO frustrating. Of course, I wanted the revision, but NEEDED the removal for sure... Glad it is turning out this way for sure though!

Congrats!!! It is amazing the hoops we have to jump through to get our surgeries. I am scheduled for RNY Revision on Sept 10 and have been dealing with this...going through the 6 month visits/program, waiting on approval, etc also. It is a relief when you finally get approved but then the anxiousness sets in. GOOD LUCK. Let me know when surgery is scheduled.
