I  am  seeking  a revision as  well  from  a  RNY  in  2009 .I didnt  lose  the  desire  weight and  I  stopped  losing  completely  at  6months  post  op . I  have  since changed  my  Dr. and  I  am  on  the  road  to  a  revision . I  am  also  hoping  to  have  the  DS.  I just  want this  to  be  the  last  time  and a  successful  surgery . Did  you  lose  any  weight are or  you  just  unsatisfied  with  your  weightloss?  I  lost a 100 lbs  in  6 month  and stopped  losing completely. My  Dr, was  just  totally Lost and  clueless. So  I  said  I  would  find  my  own  solution ,a revision. Best  wishes  to  you  on  your revision and  a  healthy  life.

Yes, I was revised from my 2002 RNY to a DS 12/29/11.  I am 5 months out today.  I am happy I fought for nearly 3 years with insurance to be approved, FINALLY.  I flew from Alaska to California for my revision.  There are about 1/2 dozen surgeons in the united states that do this extremely complicatd surgery.

My recovery was bumpy, but worth it!!!!  My incision became infected (it was my 4th abdominal surgery, and ANY 4 of those could have gotten infected, it just happened to be this surgery).  I also developed a leak................ which, THANK GOD, healed itself, so no surgery to fix the leak was needed!!!

Hi there! I am so thrilled to her about your sucess. I have just contacted Dr. Rabkins office regarding a consultation. I am looking into a revision (RNY to DS). I have insurance but it seem that you have to have all of the money up front? Is that true? If so how much does the procedure cost?

I live 15 minutes from San Francisco and I am so bummed out....

No you do not need all of your money up front.  I know that Dr. Rabkin does have a way in which he doe things financially.  And whatever you pay upfront (NOT THE WHOLE THING!!!!!).... After insurance pays it's portion, you usually receive a refund............ Please ask his office to confirm this.......... every insurance is different......... so there is a different answer for everyone........... But.........

No.
You do NOT pay 100% of the cost upfront.

As for my surgeon, Dr. Keshishian, his office charges a non-refundable program fee of $4,000.00
