I ate beets, like I was instructed. Chewed well... Bam, stuck. With the band I naturally would just stick my finger down my throat and puke it up. Well, not with the RNY... Had to wait it out. Yuck.

are you no longer able to self vomit? (finger in throat) because of an RNY?

I wanted those beets up and out. Didn't seem to work like that band.

Wow, I had band, and band-induced bulimia, but never used my fingers.... it just happened to come up on its own.

246 in Dec 2008 before banded 1/28/09 at 215 lbs, band crapped 9/09 at 170 lbs and struggled with it and regained to 203 revised to bypass on 8/1/11 and am very happy.

 Robin,
What do you mean the beets would not go down.  Does food stick and not go down like with the band?  Allso, do you have to chew your food exceptionally well and take tiny baby bites?  I was hoping to avoid all this with RNY but it sounds like the same applies.  Am I right?

Sticking a finger down ones throat  to puke is a hard pill to swallow for me - it seems not to be right under most cir****tances (well if one swallowed poison I'd encourage ).  That is a forcing, a purging  . .  . not natural even with a band.  If you are going to puke the natural sensation to do so would allow the act to come upon you without they self-inducing.

Good luck with your RNY.

Things would get stuck and hurt so bad, it was the only way.

You know Robin I came across your post so many times and was disturbed but did not respond.

I understand what happened with the band.  Please just take care of yourself now.

God Bless,
L
