sleeve to bypass?
I had the band and revised to the sleeve. The sleeve is working GREAT! In six months I have already lost all the regain and am down 30 more pounds than I ever was with the band. I am no longer obese and am still losing. If down the road the mal-absorption is needed DS can be added to the sleeve (the sleeve started as the first stage to the DS.)
There is a group for band to sleeve if you are interested. http://www.obesityhelp.com/group/Band2Sleeve/discussion/

I just had a revision from RNY to DS. My RNY failed. It has a high failure rate. Please do your homework and RESEARCH!!!! You already have the first part of the DS ~ the sleeve.
Check DSFacts.com
If you have the RNY, and later, for whatever reason, want to revise from RNY to DS, there are only about 1/2 dozen surgeons in the United States that do a revision of this complexity ~ RNY to DS. There is a list in my profile.
RNY 2/26/2002 DS 12/29/2011
HW 317 SW 263 BMI 45.1
SW 298 CW 192 BMI 32.9~60% EWL
LW 151 in 2003
TT 4/9/2003
Normal BMI 24.8 is my GOAL!!!
GBP (RNY) 2/26/02 298 lbs, TT 4/9/03 151 lbs, DS 12/29/11
HW 317 SW 263 BMI 45.1/CW 192 BMI 32.9/GW 145 ~ Normal BMI 24.8
**Revision Journey started 3/2009 Approved 12/12/11**
From all the research I have seen the Sleeve to RNY is the worse of both surgeries. The main thing is you lose your pyloric valve and end up with the man made stoma that can stretch. If the sleeve isn't enough I would recommend looking into the DS. Our center only does the sleeve to RNY because the only do Sleeves and RNY's. (and the stupid band.)
I would talk to a surgeon the does RNY, VSG and DS to see what they recommend you do.
