Going from lap band to RNY

Is it more common to have one surgery going from lap band to RNY or to remove the band first then have a seperate surgery for the gastric bypass?

I have the same surgeon and it really depends on the reason they are removing the lapband.  If you have damage from the lapband they may have to remove it and then do another surgery.  Good luck, I am going through the same thing right now. 

I had one surgery but know if there is erosion or damage a lot of dr's will do 2 surgeries. some surgeons also refuse to do the procedure in 1 surgery.  THe surgery takes a long time and you are under anesthesia a long time.  I was in surgery about 1 1/2 hours and was considered a lightweight at revision.
