Hello everyone,
I was just wondering if the RNY stops you from drinking alcohol. I am only a twice a year social function drinker but wanted to have my all my questions answered before my surgery on April 30. I'm sooooooooo excited and can't wait til my weight starts coming off.

You might want to post this on the RNY forum too, however I know with the RNY it's best to keep your drinking to a minimum because there is a very real danger of cross over addiction from food to alcohol with the RNY. If you can keep it to a few occasional drinks it's probably OK just be careful. I think the docs like you to wait at least 6 mos. after surgery before drinking alcohol so your tummy has time to totally heal. Good luck to you on your revision!
