Good luck!
My band removal was a fairly simple. Doc says that he just cut away the capsule (?) that develops around it naturally and clipped it. He also mentioned that the liver had grown into it a bit.
Today is exactly one week since surgery. I'm now sleeping through the night (that too****il day 5) and can get up and down with ease. Haven't had any pain pills in a few days now.
Eating is not an issue at all now. I was allowed to eat breakfast the next morning (told to eat whatever I wanted, but to "go slow"). I can eat whatever now. That worries me. I don't want to gain before the next surgery. My BMI is already high enough that I qualify for another bariatric weight loss surgery (darn that lap-band, what a waste of 5 years!)
I'm happy to have it out, and would have LOVED to have it revised at the same time. I totally feel it's a waste of time, money and my pain to do it this way....but Kaiser is a huge bureaucracy and you have to do things the way they want them done.
Feel free to ask any questions that may come up. Oh--My time from requesting removal to surgery was only 3 weeks
Wishing you luck!
I am having a revision done myself on the 21st of March and they are
removing the band and doing the revision at the same time. Just
wondering what to expect.
Sincerely,
Audrey
I had the band around 5 years.
Good luck with your revision!
