Band to VSG, did any of you have a drain?

I was sleeved on Thursday and my doc left a drain in for about 5 days.  I'm about 3 days in those 5 days and the drainage is getting lighter.  I'm assuming that is normal.  Anyone else experience this?

I had a drain that was removed on day 3.  There was very little drainage near the end of the second day. 

Very normal! Eventually there will be very little and your body will absorb the rest of the fluids once the drain is removed.

That's good, you want your drainage to get lighter.  That means you are getting it all out.
I also had a drain.  They removed it prior to leaving the hospital.  I am keeping drain hole covered with gauze and one of those large, clear, waterproof bandages.  I expected to see more "stuff" on the gauze, but the wound is healing quickly and gauze is clean when I change it.

I didn't have a drain though. How are you feeling?

I thought I'd recover faster than I have...when I had the band, I was pretty much back on my feet on the Monday after surgery.  Oh well. 

My doc likes to keep a drain in for revision patients for four or five days, so that's why I'm here with a drain.  It's out tomorrow, yay! 

 I had my drains removed before I left the hospital, but when I had my mastectomies, I had drains in for weeks. Had to measure output twice a day. You want it to be getting lighter and less in volume.  You sound like you are doing fine.  Good luck!
