Band to sleeve revision scheduled

Finally got my insurance pre-certification approval on Friday and my date is set for Feb. 9th. I cannot WAIT to get this piece of **** out. I am feeling pretty good now and excited for it. Asked my surgeon about his personal leak/bleed complication rate for band to VSG and he has had ZERO on hundreds of surgeries.  Those are pretty good odds.

Started 10 days of clear liquids (this is the 3rd day) then 10 days of mostly meat diet then 10 or however many more days of clear liquids leading up to surgery. This is the most torturous 30 day diet I've been put on pre-op but hey.. I'll be losing weight that I need to lose anyway just make surgery safer for me so I'm doing ok with it.

Anyway just wanted to share the good news. And I hope that everyone of you who is desiring a revision whether it's from band or RNY or whatever gets their wish this year.  Keep fighting.

All I can say is congrats to anyone who can get rid of their POS bands. Hope you enjoy your new journey!!!

Thanks I am fortunate to have good insurance so I can get done what I need. I feel for everyone who can't get it out. :(

Thanks. Excited, have come a long way from  being on the fence. Could write a dissertation on the topic now.

My revision date is 02/0912 too.  Band to VSG.  I have hard of a pre-op diet like that before.  My doctor only requires a 1 wk liquid diet but, I'm doing a two week liquid preop diet.  That's want I did with the band.  I think it's better to be on the safe side.
