RNY to DS - thinking...

I'm with you in that if it has to be open, then open it shall be!
It's too late in the game to wuss out in my opinion :-)

I had my RNY back in 2000/2001.  I lost over 100 pounds, going from 332 to 220.  But now I am stuck.  I have had two endoscopies for an ulcer, and the surgeon (who does lap bands), recommended one.  But I had Dr. Buchwald, and now, the more I read, the more I feel that the DS procedure might be a better alternative.  I do have one (at least), question:
Is it an open procedure, time in the hospital, how limited are you when you come home (I'm retired, but advise some local college students, which I'd like to do after two weeks)?  Thanks!
