REVISIONAL SURGERY

my name is Raven08 on here im basically trying to find anybody that has had Rouxen y surgery and needs Revisional surgery cause i need revisional surgery thinking about trying to get the duodenal switch need any advice possible about this please get back

I had a revision done in September.  I had RNY done in 2004 and revised to DS.  Go to www.dsfacts.com and checkout the revision surgeons.  There are only a few on the east  coast.  My surgeon was Dr. Roslin.  So far I have lost 34lbs to date.  Here is what I did to get the ball rolling:

1.  I checked my insurance to make sure revisions were covered and read all the fine print.
2.  Whatever surgeon you pick some require that you take their seminar class
3.  Do an Endoscopy and CT scan of our abdomen with and without contrast (bring results to surgeon on day of appt)
3.  make appoints to see surgeon, nutritionist and psychologist
4.  at that point I saw the surgeon a few more times and my paperwork was submitted to insurance.

I got my approval in August and had surgery in September.

Most of the RNY to DS revision I know post over on the DS board, so you may want to ask over there too. The surgeon you have listed doesn't do revisions to DS, so you will want to make sure you talk to a surgeon that does, like Rabkin or Kesheshian.

You need to research, find the revison choice that will give you the best out come, then seek out a qualified surgeon that does rny to ?  revisions. 

DO NOT pick the Dr. first, as they will "sell" you what they do.
