Peer to Peer? Anyone had luck with this?

My Dr office sent in my paperwork for hernia surgery and a revison.  My ins denied it.  Now they have scheduled a peer to peer with the doctor.  Has anyone had this happen? If so, how did it go and how long after the peer to peer was it before you knew an answer?

My insurance denied me for revision surgery and my surgeon did a peer to peer with them and a few days later the office called me to say I was approved.  It can take a matter of days or a week.

 I was originally denied by my insurance for revision also.  My doctor did the peer to peer and the decision was immediately overturned.  Your doctor will know what to say to make it happen for you if it is necessary.  Best of luck to you! 

Thank you for your input! Now if I could just get the Dr. to do it...haha.  The insurance lady told me 2 weeks ago that she had scheduled a peer to peer with the Dr, but as of Friday it still hasn't happened.  The waiting is the worst!
