Was your revision surgeon Dr. Daryl Stewart from Denton, Tx for the DS?

How was your DS with Dr. Stewart?  Are you pleased? 

I believe I should have gone with the DS from the very beginning.  However, I had the LB and it did not work.   Then I revised to the sleeve.  It did not work for me either.  Yes, I did not do my part either.  I realized that I have issues with emotional eating.  I'm going to a therapist.  She is helping me a great deal.  I do have a hiatal hernia and from what I hear the RNY would be better for me with that problem.  I don't want to go through the dumping, vomiting, food getting stuck, etc.  So, I believe the DS would be better for me at least I hope it will. 

I have Type II Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, GERD.  Right now I'm 187 lbs.  

Please share your experience.

Your haital hernia needs to be repaired, but there's no reason that would make the RNY "better" for you.

Dr. Stewart has a great reputation as a DS surgeon!

So true.  I really don't want a RNY.  I hope to get approved for the DS, that remains to be seen.

That's what I've been hearing that he is the best.

while dr stewart did not revise me to the DS - he did my lapband to sleeve revision & couldn't be pleaser with him and current results.....albeit not yet 2 wks out.

How long did you have to wait for your surgery from the time you went to see him 1st visit?

3 wks - but i was self pay.  
i probably could have gotten in sooner - but had to coordinate with my husband's work travel for him to be home & be my nurse :)

How much was your self-pay? I have $9000 in medical loans ready to go, but with Dr. Umbach I need another $7000+ more. Does Dr. Stewart do in-house payments?

$12,500 for revision from band to sleeve - not sure about payments, i'd call to check that out.

i believe his revision to DS is higher than dr umbach's 16k+.


ETA - that is if your looking to revise to the DS
