hi everyone..

Is the gastric bypass revision a painful process like the initial surgery?
How long are you off work from the gastric bypass surgery?

thank you,

I had an open RNY many years ago and then an open revision to a DS last year. After the RNY I took 6 weeks off and after the DS I took 5. And yes, the recovery was just as tough and painful. In fact I thought my recovery after the revision was a little tougher, but I'm quite bit older.

I had a revision from a VBG (not VSG) to RNY.  Both were open.  I don't think it was any more painful per se than the first surgery.  I was off work 3 weeks for the RNY 1/2 time but I should not have gone bac****il week 5 or so.  Not that I was in any pain really...just the fatigue.
