I am going for my revision on Monday.  Last time it was larascopic and this time open which is quite daunting! any comments from others who have had revision regarding the differences between the before and after op experiences.  Can one eat normally sooner, dumping syndrome worse or better etc etc?
thanks!!

What kind of revision?  Are you having a different surgery or another RNY?
I would guess that the aftercare is the same if it's another RNY.  As far as dumping I would guess it doesn't make a difference but you can ask your surgeon.
I had an open revision from one kind of surgery to another and I had the same kind of eating instructions for both.  The main difference you will have is recovering from an open surgery is more difficult then a lap and you will have to take it easier longer and maybe put off returning to work longer.

Hi.  I am having a modified BPD done.  They are leaving my pouch and just shortening the length of the intestine after it so I am hoping that I will be back to normal food quicker.

So basically a ERNY or a more distal RNY.  I hope they informed you about the increased needs for supplements and lab work.  It is very important with more malabsorption to make sure you stay on top of your labs.  You might want to get in touch with Vitalady and ask her about what kind of vitamins and labs you will need.
As far as eating normal foods, what does your doctor say?

Hello my name is Cheryl I live in Washington. I had lapband in 2009. Unfortunately I had nothing but problems with it. It was broken and I finally got it removed last weeks and am converting to the sleeve next Mon. I can't wait!

I had a RNY to DS revision.....both open. Recovery was tough for me but I survived. In general, after a revision the weight loss is slower than after the original surgery.

Good luck.
