Considering a revision to a DS and live near Chicago?
If you live in the Illinois area and want to meet one of the world's top DS surgeons (and one of the only guys who can do a REAL RNY to DS revision), come to our support group meeting on Monday, October 17.
Dr. Rabkin has a pretty good info on revisions on his site:
http://www.paclap.com/weight-loss-surgery/revisions.cfm
Dr. Rabkin will be there to meet with any newbies considering bariatric surgery or revisions and give an informational talk (6:00 to 7:00 p.m.) and then he will meet with veterans in our support group meeting (7:00 to 8:00 p.m.). His practice web site is www.paclap.com.
There is absolutely no pressure, just information. (I went to 17 of these meetings before I had my virgin DS in 2008 and felt zero pressure!)
The address is:
MercyWorks at Dearborn Station
47 W. Polk, Chicago, 60605 (lobby)
If you have any questions, send me a PM.

I had the kick-butt duodenal switch (DS)!
HW: 344 lbs CW: 150 lbs
Type 2 diabetes and sleep apnea GONE!
Yes--I left 85% of my stomach in San Francisco. One of the best vacations of my life!
I went there for about 10-11 days total. The first day is for labs, etc. Then you have your surgery, then you spend about 3-4 days in the hospital and then you stay in the area for a few days so he makes sure you are doing well and then you go home. My regular PCP works with his office to make sure my labs are where they need to be, etc. His aftercare is excellent.
