I received the results of my EGD today. I was told my Stomach is to small(made to small on previous Gastric Bypass) and my intestine opening is to wide. I was also told my only surgery option would be the BPD.

I just started the research on this procedure, but so far I'm not reading much that is positive. I would appreciate any feed back on this procedure good or bad.

What, in general, is a BPD?

BPD stands for "Bilio-Pancreatic Diversion" and it's essentially a large-pouch, very-distal RNY. It was the precursor of the modern-day DS, sometimes called the BDP-DS. (It should more properly be called the VSG-DS, for Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy with Duodenal Switch---but that's awkward at best. *grin*)

That may be the only revision your particular surgeon can DO, but it's NOT your only option. You need to research RNY-to-DS revision---but there are only a handful of surgeons in the US who are qualified to do this.

Come visit the DS board---we have a LOT of RNY-to-DS revisions over there.
