Dr agreed to a revision

I got a lapband 7/05, it slipped 1/07 and was repositioned, I've had constant trouble since.  Today my surgeon agreed with me that it's time to be done with the lapband and I'm getting RNY.  I can't risk the heartburn with the sleeve so this is the best choice for me.  Hopefully the insurance approval will go through without issue, which I expect. 

So I need to get an EGD, insurance approval and a date.  I'm excited to get this ball rolling again. 

It's nice that my surgeon is so kind, he joked that I went for weight loss surgery lite the first time, now it's time to just get this done and get on with living life.  Lapband was my choice, he preferred RNY, but I was too afraid. 

Me too. Wish I listened to my doc back then. I'm having trouble getting approval for a revision because my band does not have a technical problem. I just can't lose weight. I hope yours goes smoothly!
