Cool, congratulations!!!  I had my lapband taken out 3 weeks ago and I'm down 22 lbs.  I feel really really good!!  Saw my dietician yesterday and I am officially off the liquid part of the diet and on regular food.  I love it.........especially liked not choking or sliming!!  So far so good.  My protein shakes I got from my dietien and they were pretty good!!

I am new here and waiting to hear back from a surgeon regarding a revision.  I am Australian but live in Canada (happily married here) and had the lapband in Australia in 2003, I lost 100lb and then had a personal loss that caused me to gain back about 60lb (how easily it is to trick that band).  I am having pain round the port site and my last removal of fluid the doc here said the fluid was rusty looking (cringe).  I approached my doctor and she put in an urgent referral - so I am just waiting now.

I am so happy for you girls that have a date and will be following your stories.  I like to know everything - and get involved in other peoples ups and downs, so any information is really appreciated.

I am on the liquid diet now..and have surgery next Wednesday..I have tried lots hate them too. Till I tried using the sugar free carnation instant breakfast rich chocolate kind, with a little of that vanilla protein powder from GNC in a red bag, and 1 cup of 2% milk. I add ice, and I put a mug in the freezer..and I blend it for quite a while, so it's actually like a shake, and it's delicious.

Did you get approval the 1st time it was summited?
What insurance do you have?

I am starting the process and I see so many denials I am hoping to avoid that and get approved quickly.

Best,

Congratulations on the revision! My crapband is coming out on Tuesday and revising to RNY :)

Unjury added to broth is what I am going to do.. I add tiny amounts at a time so no clumping and mix well. helped to do it when its very hot.

How did your revision go??? How are you doing post op??? I've heard adding the Unjury protein to hot liquid will make it clump???

http://www.vitalady.com/protein.htm

She has samples for $1.99.  GREAT PRICE!!!!  They are changing/upgrading the website, so please bear with them.  I have gotten a few different orders of samples,  that way I can see if I like it, instead of buying the BIG jugs and finding out.  Then maybe I can save on shipping if I find a decent price locally.

(I have an order on the way with samples of protein, and my vitamin D is low, so I have ordered vitamin D 50,000 IU)

The VERY BEST thing about Michelle/Vitalady, is that her website caters to WLS with low to no sugar & vitamins made for "us" with the malabsorption component.  She is a WEALTH of information, and does not push her business on you, but will cheerfully offer lots of great tips and advice for lab levels, and how to get them back up into range if they are low.
