Tri Care Prime/revision
They covered my band to VSG revision only at a MTF. I have a friend that had ERNY performed and covered by Tricare Prime with a civilian due to weight regain, and complications with her stoma.
I'm not sure if they'd cover a BOB(band over bypass) procedure since most surgeons don't offer it since the results seem to be very limited while the band complications outweigh the positives.
They will pay for revisions if medically necessary, or due to mechanical failure. I could have had a band to RNY with any surgeon that accepted Prime. However, I fought to have VSG as a revision.

Hello:
I have tried to have the revision of the Lap Band after RNY surgery and was denied, reason being that it was experimental and not medically necessary. However, I have not reached goal weight have gained about 20 pound and my stoma is strecthed.... I have been told that I can do an appeal.....does anyone know what I can do to make this happen?
Thanks
