Anyone travel alone to Calif for revision with Dr. K??
I just want to hear from anyone out there that has done it and how they did it.

I would travel alone again, in a heartbeat. Still waiting to hear on my appeal.... As far as airplane, for my 2002 RNY & 2003 surgeries, I flew from Alaska to Washington.... on the way back, I asked for the bulkhead seats, more room for your legs to stretch out & the wheelchair request was a TRUE lifeSAVER!!!!!
As for hotels.... In March 2011...... I used the Ramada, by the airport while I was there & did not rent a car. Now, do not get me wrong, I like the hotel ok enough, but, the location, without a car, was a $40.00 taxi ride each way, so, $80.00 round trip.

And clicked under the "Our Program" on the left, and then clicked on the "Out of Town Patients" Now, I would also contact his office to verify the hotels..... I would DEFINATELY use a hotel LOTS closer to his office, which is connected to the hospital, just to save on the taxi fare.
And, of course, if I am approved, I vote that we take care of each other and go together!!!!!

I forgot to tell you that I flew into the Burbank Airport, used the Glendale office and had my EGD and upper GI at the Verdugo Hills hospital. While I was there, after my upper GI, and waiting on a taxi to show up, I spied a pharmacy there at the hospital/office building. So, that there is CONVIENECE!!!!! No need to have to make a special trip to a pharmacy elsewhere, right?
