Starting the process of revising
Met with my surgeon finally. He asked me if I wanted to revise and I asked what he thought. So his response was I gave it my best shot... It's been 1 1/2 yrs since my band and I've had no success. I can't seem to stand any fluid in my band. I have had stuck episodes and have not had success with weight loss. I initially lost 36 lbs but have gained back 17 since I was too tight and had to remove all the fluid. Tried to tweak the fluid level with no success. My port always is sore... I'm always uncomfortable.
So I have to go for another psych consult and 3 nutrition consults and then they can submit for approval. Fingers crossed.

my insurance will only approve a revision to RNY so that's the way I'm going. I had the barium swallow and it showed everything was fine. I just can't handle having any fill in my band. I have issues with it with the slightest fill level. Now that I have had all the fluid removed I feel much better.
after 2 slips I started my revision journey as well. Good luck to you! I have had horrible luck. After 3 years a surgeon that took over for my real surgeon said she wont revise me because im too young and active.. I was down 113 when I had to have a complete unfil due to a slip and have gained 30 back... bmi of 35 now and she told me just to diet and maintain.
Uggh.
