my insurance (BCBS IL) only would cover for the RNY from the band. The DS I was told left you with little absorption. I am only 3 wks out and have already lost 22 lbs.. I am happy to get rid of the crap band. Good Luck!

Hi all, I am a RNY patient that had a RNY revision. For me - I would do it all over again if I had to. I love my pouch. It also depends on your surgeon. I have had no malabsorption issues at all and this is since 2007. I did not lose my hair or nails. Each surgery comes with its own issues. I know RNY is not for everyone but it does work. My revision we on 5/16 and a pericardial patch was placed. I will not be able to gain weight again. The pericardial patch is not elastic. Therefore no stretching.

Check surgeons and find one willing to listen. Good luck
