I learned today that my RNY to DS revision has been approved
still have a Few questions:
1. Nutritional deficiency: should I be concerned about further nutritional def since the rny will be taken down to convert to DS? outside of what I would need to supplement with for the DS do I have anything additional that is not obvious that any of you have experienced?
2. Hair falling out... should I expect that again!
3.The post op time recovery?
4. Are you happy with your results. How much more weight did you loose?  Are you otherwise happy that you to ventured forward with the conversion? stated in the literature is 10-12 point drop in BMI
5. How soon after surgery were you able to tolerate your vitamins again?

Just curious if you have also posted this on the DS board?  Might get more responses there....  I am still pre-op, but will do my best to answer, based on what I have been reading on the DS board the last 2 years.

1.  Yes, granted everyone is different, but in the weight loss phase, you will have different vitamins you will need to take from RNY.  Specifically A, E, D, K.  Have you looked on www.vitalady.com ????  Michelle is AWSOME!!!!

2. Yes, there is a chance from the anesthesia.

3. Depending on what type of work you do, I have seen 2-3 weeks, I, personally, because of the type of physical job I have, once I have my revision from RNY to DS, I will likely be off from work 6 weeks.

4. Still per-op, but it seems like everyone who is a revision would do it all again, so, I am guessing that they are happy with their results.

5.  2 weeks.  Your body is using what you have stored, but, again, look at vitaladys website, she has a SLEW of chewables & liquids!!!  Just FOR bariactric patients!!!!

Sure hope this has helped you!!!!
