Getting Ready for Revision....SCARED TO DEATH!

Good luck!  I was lucky and they approved me the first time, but my doctor said my insurance company is very easy to deal with.  I'm scared but I think it's more of a nervous anticipation!  I look at all the success pictures on here and I know that is what I want,  My biggest hurdle right now is my husband!  He has seen all the trouble I've had with the band and he is very much against this surgery!  I will pout and win though.

Good luck to both of you or all of you with band problems.

I hope you are able to get the relief and the quality of life that we were all meant to have.  I'm looking into revision myself from a Open RNY to a sleeve or DS.

I had my revision from band to rny almost 2 weeks ago. I was scared to death and let me tell you the truth, I wish someone had told me. The pain is like nothing I ever been through. The back and stomach pain is sooo terrible. FYI when they take out the drains, please have someone there to hold yout hand and support you. The pain of the removing of the dains was worse than the surgery for me. About 1 week out you may feel like you pulled something, my doc told me its my muscles healing and come in to the office for a check up. Today I feel like a new person, my feet are huring less, my skins is soft and clear and I feel hopeful. Even though I was in tears last sunday because of pain this week I feel great. So hang in there and follow are of your doctors orders. Go0d Luck, Cara

Wow...I'm so glad that you are feeling better.  What are the drains for?  A friend of mine had this surgery 3 years ago and she said she didn't have any drains.

I am sorry to hear you had a painful experience.

I have heard some had pain removing the drains but most, " like me"  had no pain when the drain was pulled out.   Interesting.... maybe like you said the muscles.  I only had my drain in for a few days oppose to your week.  Maybe that is it.

you said you had pain, my girlfriend went through the RNY easy breezy.  Its amazing how everyone is different.

I hope your doing well.
