How much pain can I expect

Please tell me how much pain to expect after the RNY?The band was pretty painful when I woke up but got better as the night went on.I know this is much more involved.Please share your experience.Thanks

Depends on  Open  or laproscopic ?  I would say to expect a bit more pain and just stay up on your meds - every day gets a litle better. keep moving .

I found Ice packs very comforting

     HAD  the rny 1/25/11  the pain was worse than the lapband but,I had a morphine pump and didn't have a lot of "breakthrough pain" ,it was very manageable.I also had 2 drains when I woke up,they weren't that bad,the morphine seemed to make my oxygen level drop down a lot and I had oxygen sometimes but,for the most part it wasn't that bad.
