This is in response to my post I made about 2 weeks about about my surgeon being right...I hope I answer some questions for you...

1- I am NOT having my complete"blind" stomach removed
2- he said that it CAN Develop cancer not that its a gurantee that it will
3- he is not my original surgeon- he is a specialist in RNY to DS, RNY to RNY surgeries-
4-the frist surgeon pretty much screwed me, so he is going to repair the work that was done by her in Chicago

5-You know, I cam looking for support- I had done my research on this..I couldnt exactly explain what he was  going to do, but he mentioned " sleeve" during our consultation, explained to me through a diagram what had happened with my original surgery, and what he is going to do to make sure that I live a longer, healthier life....
I tried to be nice and explain to some of you that maybe I had the information wrong- excuse me for being excited about my upcoming revision and just wanting to re-aquaint myself with OBH and get support other than from my husband.....

IF you dont have anything to say nice, please dont say anything at all..Im pretty sure that I didnt come off a mean ***** or anything like that...and if I did, Im sorry

6- a biopsy concluded that I am one of those rare patients that has developed cancer n the "floating" stomach..so surgery has been moved to the 7th....

Thanks for all of your support...

Shana,
Good luck with the revision and I hope that all works out well for you.  :)
I was also re-aquainting myself to the site after a period of absence and it seems like the site has changed somewhat from what I recall.  That's ok though, to each their own.

Keep us updated! :)

<-- Disregard that data - apparently I am a LOON because I can't figure out how to change it.
Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with catsup!

Shana,

Well said!!!! Take a bow ;-)  I am here for you revision buddy anytime you need an ear or to compare notes.  Hoping I here something soon on mine.  Seems to me you have done your homework and are well informed.  Some people need to remember that the surgery that is best for them is not necessarily best for everyone else.   I think people need to do their own homework and consult their surgeon and make the decision that is the best for them.   Keep in touch!

Hi, I hope you do well. Did you have symptoms that led to the discovery of the cancer in your floating stomach? Are they going to take the stomach completely out? I wish you the best.

Hello,
I am currently looking into haven a revision done as well.  I am comming up on my 6 year anniversary for gastric bypass.  I was 298 when I had my surgery got down to 180 and then after 6 years have gone back up to 265.  I have had no complications as of now.  I also got pregnant 8 months out of haven the surgery.  That is the short story.  I experiance pain on my left side as well,  back in Aug. 2010 I thought I was haven a gallbladder attack, went to the ER they said it was a muscle spasm and sent me home with pain meds.  Since the surgery everytime I bend or slouch I fell a tightning in on my left side as if my intestines are knotting up.  Due to insurance I have not been able to do follow ups with my surgeoun and had to just go to my pcm for after care.  I'm hopen with going back to my surgeon he will have some knowledge as to what is going on and pray that my insurance will cover haven the revision.

What type of revision are you having? I just had my revision in Nov. I went from a RNY back to an RNY.  My surgeon decided to remove other stomach, he never mentioned anything about cancer.  My first surgery was done wrong the pouch was made too low and my new surgeon had to go and redo everything.

Good luck tomorrow!! I'm sure everything will go well.
