this really depends on 2 factors, your health and your surgeon's preference.  first if your band eroded into the tissues that is a given remove and wait a few months, if you have other severe damage same thing.  if no damage then medically there is no reason, but your surgeon's preference.

I am a band to RNY revision, and was able to get it all in one day. It took a bit longer than originally expected because of adhesions (aka scarring). But I love my rny... i've lost almost more than I've ever lost with the band in 3 weeks. Another 9 pounds and I'm tied with my all time low with the band.
