Band Revisions ??/ Anyone

Hello, I haven't been on here in a a long time. I had lap bank in July 08 and lost 40 pounds. I still have a long way to go and the weight just isn't going anywhere. Has anyone had a revision to the sleeve or any other WLS and what was your outcome? Thanks

9 days ago I revised from a band to an RNY, and I love it. I'm a dumper, so I have to be careful. I have already lost 20 pounds... i'm so pleased with my RNY.

TeriLynn congrats on the revision! U will do much better with this WLS!!!

Please go back to the band forum and post on there. Potential bandsters NEED to know what the band is REALLY like!!! I know I would have appriciated it if I had seen posts like our experiences on the band forum PRIOR to me getting the band.

PAY IT FORWARD!!! Don't let others make the same mistake we made!

no revision yet but working on it.
Dumping is a reaction to a large carbohydrate or sugar load emptying into the small intestine that causing gbs to have:abdominal pain diarrhea palpitations and a reactive low blood sugar 1-2 hours after those symptoms.( 2 name a few symptoms) its a side effect of gastric bypass surgery+ any malabsopritve surgery where a portion of the small intestine is re-routed. u should not have this effect with the band.

Revision on 02/21/11

Hi, I had the band 02/2008 and have a surgery date of 02/21/11 for revision to the sleeve. The band seemed to work good the first 8 months, as I lost about 50lb. Then I started having problems, too tight too loose...I could never find that elusive sweet spot. I now weigh what I weighed when I had the original band surgery. After careful study and reading OH I chose the sleeve. Good luck to you.

I dump on SALTy foods! Beef broth (which has a higher sodium content than chicken), makes me dump. Some cream soups, make me dump, higher salt content.

It is a not so nice feeling that you get that kindda teaches you not to eat what you should do.

I have the CRAP BAND also. :-( Most ppl that revise from band seem to revise to VSG, although any of the other WLS's would be a much better option than the band in my opinion!!!

Please post your experience on the band forum. Those that are pre-op need to hear experiences like ours so they don't make the same mistake!!!

I have seen to many people that the band works for to be so negitive against it. It just wasn't right for
me.Nearly empty and it had slipped again. My own surgeon said it was as if My body was trying to rid itself of it.

I will not tell people the band is bad. I just had a bad experience.
