I posted this on the DS board too.

I received the actual report from the insurance company.  The insurance company contracts out to a 3rd party called the Medical Review Institute of America.

I am posting the link to my blog, since the report was 4 pages.

Have you ever thought of hiring Walter Lindstrom a lawyer in California who has help people with obesity? His wife Kelly, helped me win my appeal to have my RNY in 2003.

I am not an appeal expert by any shot, I only know what I read on the boards.

Be sure that there isn't a limit on how many times you can appeal before you have to wait a year to start the process all over again.  I believe some ins co's do that and some do not.

Jamie - so sorry! I'm going through the same thing with Aetna. Waiting to hear the response to my appeal. I also don't know what to do. If I get denied, I might switch insurance at the next enrollment. I'll cross my fingers for you!
