It doesn't really make any sense to do that.  I can only guess (since I didn't check who your doc is before hitting reply) that your surgeon wants you to do that because he doesn't do RNY to DS?

Thing is, you'll be in the same boat a couple of years ago that you are in now.  Not malabsorbing anything but tons and tons of vitamins. ;o)  You won't be malabsorbing the calories but you will not absorb vitamins well either.

You'll basically have the worst of both worlds, all the bad of DS and all the bad of RNY.  There have been several people posting here about their horror stories with ERNY.  They have had to have revisions to their revisions, the gas, the smell, the vitamin issues, and for what?  So you can have the need for DS a few years down the road?

It really doesn't make sense to me.

Hell no, DON'T REVISE TO A DISTAL RNY.  DSers call that the worst of both worlds.  This is a very bad idea.  Please find a competent surgeon that is willing to take down your RNY and give you a reall VSG w. DS.
