HELP NEEDED...Rec'd response from insurance carrer
Hello. I received a letter from my insurance carrier, yesterday, requesting a response from me within 72 hours from the date of the letter. The letter is dated on 12/2 which I rec'd on 12/4.
So, they're asking for documentation as to why my RNY failed. I've been diagnosed with esophageal motility disorder. I've had hiatal hernia's since 2006 (most recent last week). A hiatal hernia repair in '08. Acid reflux, choking, and difficulty swallowing. Dr. K says the motility disorder is very common in those patients with ABDs more so than RNY...am I the first RNY patient with this disorder...I can't be.
They're also asking for results of diagnostic studies and office notes. I have this showing a clear pattern of GERD and esophageal motility disorder.
I'm attempting to identify a study that shows failed RNYs with GERD or esophageal motility disorder.
Any help anyone can provide will be sooo appreciated!
