Looking at possibly having revision for a 2000 bypass

If possible looking for input on revisions.  Is it usually covered after 10 years?  Also, how much weight gained back is to much?

I have heard that WLS is considered successful if you have lost 50% of your excess weight. I don't know if insurance will cover revisions unless there is a mechanical failure or if your BMI is still over 40 (35 with co morbs). Have you spoken to your surgeon? What kind of surgery did you have and do you want to revise to?

FYI...I have noticed over the years that revisions have increased complication rates....be careful. 

My insurance covers because my BMI is back above 35.  Seek out a surgeon who does a lot of revisions.

I think every insurance is different.  I have gained 2/3 of my weight back and I am trying to avoid going through another surgery so I am doing weigh****chers right now and counting calories.

But I did look into revision several years ago and I agree if you need to seek out someone who does have a lot of experience because the second time around it is riskier.
