Revision from RNY to DS

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know of any great surgeons in the TN area who do revisions from RNY to DS and can you tell of your experience (i.e., weight loss, complications, etc...)?

there are only a handful of surgeons to take this revision on:  Drs Rabkin, Greenbaum, Gagner, Keshasian.  be very careful who you would let attempt this as it requires the most expertise.

There are a bunch of us RNY to DS people over on the DS board. Yes, there are very few surgeons who are qualified to do this surgery. It's very involved.

Most have made it at or near goal. I am 11 months out and about 30 lbs from my surgeon's goal, which was 38 lbs less than my original RNY goal.  I didn't have any complications other than a hospital-acquired c. diff infection.

Ask over on the DS board, you'll get a bunch of responses.

I've given up on Husted.  Every time I am ready to have my surgery (approvals, etc...) he moves to a different hospital.  He's about 15 hours away from me now vs. he was only 3 hours away before.

Providing that I am approved for my RNY to DS revision, I will be traveling from Alaska to California.

I also traveled from Alaska to Washigton in 2002, and again in 2003.  So, for me, traveling may be a pain, but for a good surgeon, it is worth the pain in the butt of traveling 2500 miles!!!!

Sadly, none of the TN area DS surgeons can restructure the pouch back into a complete stomach.
