How long does G tube stay in

Good Morning everyone i am 2 wks post op RNY. Has anyone else had a gastric tube in? and when does it come out.

Are you talking about the drain that is inserted into your side? If so, mine came out on my 5th post-op day.

I had a JP drain on my left side that was removed right before I went home from the hospital. I also had a G-tube and my doctor leaves that at least 6 weeks. I kept mine an extra week to have an easier way to get potassium in since I was dangerously low. I got it out last Tuesday and it took about a week to heal.
