does anyone know if it's possible to get the silastic band added to existing RNY?  I'm so scared taht I'm going to gain back weight.  This is a band that limits the size of your pouch ever streching past it's set amount!

How would the band prevent pouch dilation?  Wouldn't it just prevent stoma dilation?

Are you gaining now?

The band got me to goal, the sleeve will keep me there.

I belive it prevents pouch from streching beyond 6 oz.  (?) I'm up about 5 lbs.  Never full, always hungry!

Nah... it doesn't do anything for pouch size, it merely gives your stoma restriction.

Have you had an upper GI?  Do you know if your pouch or stoma have dilated?

i have never had a upper gi post surgery.  I do have a ton of acid reflux...maybe they will look and see.  If I ask them to do one, will they need a reason?

I see that you have a no ghrelin sign on your post...does this hormone come back after surgery?  If I understand it, its the hormone that makes us hungry? or is it the one that tells us we are full?

I had a prolene mesh band around my stoma, placed there during my RNY surgery. It's the reason I needed a revision. It became too restrictive, ate into the stoma, and had to be completely excised out during my revision.

My pouch never stretched, but I gained weight because instead of eating protein, I was living on high calorie soft foods and liquids.
