Private Insurance or Medicaid that pays for Revision to DS?

Hi All,

A relative of mine is interested in having a revision to a DS.  Im wondering if anyone knows if Medicaid or any private insurances that you pay monthly (Aetna, Blue Cross) will cover a WLS revision to DS?  I am not sure what to tell her because I have never gone thru them, only the Blue Cross that I have that my company pays for me.

Thanks!

All plans are different, and you'd have to read the plan details. Many self-pay plans leave out WLS because it's an expensive option. I had Horizon BCBS NJ and they paid, but it was an employer-sponsored plan.
