Lurker want a BOB but

I want a revision band over bypass but my husband is against it. I had Lap RNY back in Sept 03 my highest weight was 278. At surgery around 269. I got down to163 and weight loss stop and started to slowly regain upto 247. Today I weight 242 at Dr office. He suggested the Stomaphyx but I been lurking and notice no one was successful with it. Also notice some LB are going to RNY. I havent posted in years so not sure what in my siggy.

Have you thought about DS surgery.  I had the lapband in 2005 and lost 50lbs and gained it all back.  I am having a revision on the 29th.  Look at the DSfacts.com and post some to the DS board.

My Dr. doesn't do DS & yes I saw what everyone has to say about it. It just that my husband is against me having another wls. So it look like I will have to try harder on my own.

It looks like you've gained just about all of your weight back with both a restrictive and a malabsorbtive procedure.  If I were you, I would seriously consider the biggest and best gun  . . . the duodenal switch.  Why mess around?  If you are going to get fixed, get fixed right.

I'm in the same boat.  I had a Lap RNY in 2004; I went from 314 to 167. Over the past 3 years, I've gained 45 pounds.  I am now 211; my surgeon conducted test on my pouch and found it has a hole which causes the food to empty out quickly and allows me to remain hungry and to keep eating.  My doctor recommended the Band over bypass for me.  I am scheduled to receive the band on 6/14/10; keep in contact and I will let you know how it works out.  I believe you need to have your doctor check your pouch maybe you have the same problem as i do.  Oh and my husband does not want me to do the surgery either but what he really don't want to see is me at 314 pounds again because I was miserable.  They don't understand how hard it is to lose the weight especially the bigger we get the harder it is to loose. 

I had upper GI test done 6/1st and I will have endoscope done this Wed Jun 9th but i guess i want know my result until my appt Jun 24. Please keep in contact with me, i want to know how your doing.

My doctor observed the hole in my pouch when the results to the endoscopy came back.  I will keep in contact with you about the band once it is placed on the 14th.
