RNY to DS - anyone have Tricare?

I would like to get a revision from RNY to DS but I have Tricare. Anyone been approved or denied...and why?

I don't have tricare, I just wante dto say goodluck with wanting to get switched. I'm seeking the same revision type. I have Aetna PPO (i think it is) I can't start my journey until after my baby is born. Hope you have luck in getting your approval. Susan

I've read on here from a few members that Tricare Prime and Standard will not cover DS. I had a VSG revision from the band, and had to have my revision at a MTF because they are not approved as a covered procedure with civilian surgeons. I have a civilian PCM and get referred out to civis for everything, but I had to request that my referral get sent specifically to the MTF for the revision.

 Here at Madigan (Ft Lewis) they are doing them!  I had a revision from an old VBG to RNY.  But I know a few doing RNY to DS.  No problems with them getting approved.  I don't know about being referred to a civilian, though.
