Revisional Surgery

I had gastric bypass surgery in 2003.  I went from 324 lbs. to 180 (never got to goal of 150 lbs.).  Oh, I gained back up to 260 lbs. but have managed to get back to 230 lbs.   Anyway, I am considering revisional surgery which more than likely will be the Lap Band.  I don't even know if I am a candidate yet, my appt. is on 5/21/10 to talk to the doctor about this.  I would like to know if having this procedure over my gastric bypass is worth doing?  I know I have to get back in the gruve of exercising and eating properly again to lose weight, but does this revision give you more ability to do so?  I'm just worried about having another surgery and the risks.

   I am in the same boat as you!  I am scheduled to have a lap band over previous bypass on 6/29 with Dr. Corvala in Mexico. I can keep you posted on how it goes once I get back.  From what I've heard from people that are in the same situation, the results have been fantastic. Talk to you soon!

I wasn't worrried at all when I had the gastric bypass, but for some reason I am hesitant now.  I hope I hear from other like you who can lead me in the right direction.

Have you had your surgery yet?  I am going to the doctor this fternoon to have my first conceltation and see what he can do for me.  I hope I will be able to decide what is best.
