Aetna now covers the VSG but not as a revision :(

Anybody else heard other wise? 

I actually got into an argument with my surgeon's office insurance director because of this.  Do you have any web links or anything that say that Aetna covers the VSG?  The director insists they don't.

My Dr.'s office said that they are covering it AND if you are approved for a revision they will consider the sleeve...  I hope so, that is what I want!!!

Hello...is Dr. Halmi charging you fee for his pre-surgical weight loss plan?

No, the only thing that I have to pay for are the Aetna classes, 150 total.  I have aetna and it is one of their things.  It was either that or 6 months of weight loss classes..  I haven't heard anything about any pre surgical weight loss plan...

who did you take the classes though?

the classes are through the dr.s office..  Dr. Halmi.  just called and once I am done everything is submitted and then scheduled..  so there isn't anything else..

When are you submitting paperwork too? Sorry about all the questions.

I think I'm going to give your doc a call. I think the main problem here is clarity from the insurance handler at the doctor's office.
