BOB not band over bypass BUT bypass over band!!!!!
I had the bypass done in 2005 and did that because I always thought "Go big or go home". Well, it stops working after a while, whereas the band is adjustable.
I think that's awesome that your doc is doing that. He's saving you from having 2 surgeries, one to remove the band and another to do the rny and put the band back in.

One other thing:
*The band is a restrictive surgery and you did not do well with that approach.
*The RnY has A LITTLE malabsorption (more at first, less as time goes on) in addition to restriction.
*The DS has MOSTLY malabsorption in addition to significant restriction.
By combining the band and the RnY...you have two procedures that rely primarily on restriction...which has already not served you well.
